I hear ya, I hear ya! You're pissed off and I get it.
Yesterday's vote by the Board of Education to accelerate the closing of Mill Ridge Intermediate School has caused quite a bit of outrage in the community...and quite a spike in the my blog traffic.
I'm working on several stories regarding my views on what I witnessed attending the board of education's budget process. In following City Hall over the years, I must admit that I'm at a loss of words over everything I've seen. From the tone-deafness of the City Council, to the way the board of education's "debate" on the budget, I seriously wonder if elected officials were really listening to the concerns of the community...but that's for a later post.
I'd like to thank the countless teachers, parents, and students who thanked me for following the budget process and keeping them informed on what's happening. Frankly, watching the traffic on this site almost reaching up to 800-1000 visits (that's VISITS not hits) in a day was rather amazing as well as the number of people who viewed the video stream last night.
..and don't worry, I'll do what I can in terms of following more BOE meetings in the future.
I'm terribly sorry for the delay in posting video from the meetings but everything will be online soon.
